Blu-ray disks, also known as BD, are the newest media format. The high-definition video and data storage disks uses a violet (blue) laser that opperates at a 405nm wavelength. This smaller wavelenght allows for more data to be fitted on blu-ray disks.
Blu-ray is well know for being incorporated with the PlaysStation3.
