In my own words AI is the ability for computers to reason, learn and make choices that are exclusively theirs, of course based on some data that are trained off.
This is mainly due to the massive surge in computing power as well as huge amounts of data available on the internet. These points are something that is only more recent and so these have accelerated AI growth by a lot.
One is bias, the data that the AI is trained on can be one dimensional where it teaches the AI one idea while not allowing to understand all biases, so its actions and responses can be predictable and unreliable. Another two issues that can be seen as similar include ethical issues such as will the uses of the AI be responsible and not for harm along with the idea of how trustworthy is AI? How reliable is it?
The automative sector involves the use of robots in an assembly line for the fast production of vehicles. They are used for their precision, efficiency and consistency. Production of electronic components such as chips which require extreme accuracy, something these robots can provide. Some pharmaceutical companies employ them for packaging of pills to ensure each packet contains the exact number of pills or the drug itself, accuracy being something the robots excel at.
I personally don’t believe AGI is possible. This on the other hand does not mean I don’t believe we will advance with the development of AI. But rather, I just think that we won’t be able to advance AI to the point of AGI, maybe something close or similar might be possible.
