Randy Pausch Homework
Randy Pausch (1960-2008) was a Computer Science Professor and Advisor on a tenure at CMU, Pittsburgh. He specialized in human-computer
interaction and design.
Randy was known largely for the last speech/lecture he gave, named “The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”,
which went famous after it was uploaded online. Through this media coverage his published books also gained more recognition.
Things I liked about his talk
- The technique known as a "four-quadrant to-do list" where you make a to-do list sorted by importance first and then due date second
- “Do what works for you,” this is slightly different to normal advice which tell you to do stuff one specific way, rather, take everything that has been said in mind, but make sure if you think you can do better, do better.
- Make a fake class whenever you have an odd amount of free time between two classes
- You might be able to counter procrastinations, however the stress always builds up. Thus, try to make some fake deadlines
- Creating a time journal, which highlight where you waste or use the most time during your week
