Description:
Three Rivers Fencing Club is our sister club in
Pittsburgh. Additional fencing is available there on Tuesdays and
Thursdays under an extremely skilled and professional instructor.

Iana Dakova, Head Coach
Iana Dakova (pronounced "Yana") was a professional fencer and a member of the
Bulgarian National Team from 1984 to 1991. She regularly
competed in World Cups and won multiple National
Championship titles in Bulgaria between 1983 and 1990. Iana
earned her masters in coaching in 1985 and was assistant
coach at the Slavia Fencing Club from 1986 to 1990. Since
that time she has coached secondary school students as well
as adults, and has served as an international referee. Iana
recently was named to the U.S. Fencing Officials Commission
(FOC), which oversees rule implementation and refereeing in
the U.S.
Club Location:
TRFC is located in the Factory Building, near the corner of
Penn and Braddock avenues in Point Breeze. (The Factory is
also home to Gatto Cycles, The Climbing Wall, Gymkhana
Gymnastics, and the East End Food Co-op.) Upon joining
the CMU fencing club additional directions will be provided if
necessary. |
