How would you define Artificial Intelligence?
I would define artifical intelligence as training the computer to behave as a human brain. This involves making informed decisions, learning how to think and abstract images. I believe training a computer to be able to think like a human brain is like how babies develop their brains, which is slowly by progress.
AI has existed for nearly 70 years. Why is it experiencing an impressive growth right now?
AI is experiencing impressive growth right now due to several factors such as:
Increased computational power: The computational capabilities needed to train complicated AI models have significantly improved with the introduction of more powerful computer processing power.
Big data availability: Massive volumes of data have been produced by the growth of the internet, social media, smartphones, and Internet of Things devices. AI models, especially deep learning algorithms, require enormous datasets for training to become effective.
Improved algorithms: Artificial intelligence (AI) models have become more effective and efficient as a result of advancements in the fields of deep learning, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing (NLP).
Can you identify three domains or classes of problems where current AI models still face significant challenges?
Bias-ness: AI models may inherit biases from the data, particularly if they were trained on huge datasets. This could result in unjust or unethical conclusions.
Common sense reasoning: AI models frequently can't comprehend the subtleties of human language or reason using common sense information. This can lead to errors in tasks that require understanding context or making assumptions.
Real world generalisation: Even if AI models are excellent at certain tasks, they frequently have trouble applying their knowledge to novel or unexpected scenarios.
Can you name at least three application sectors where robots are widely used, and explain why they are employed in those sectors?
Application sectors where robots are widely used:
Manufacturing sectors: Due to their high speed, accuracy, and consistency in doing repeated activities, robots are used in manufacturing for jobs like welding, packing, and assembly. This lowers the possibility of human error and raises output.
Healthcare sectors: Robots are utilised in healthcare for patient care, surgery, and diagnostics since they can carry out delicate operations more precisely than humans can.
Logistics and Warehousing: Order picking, sorting, and product transportation are tasks that are increasingly performed by robots in logistics and warehousing since they may greatly boost productivity and save expenses.
Do you believe that the convergence of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and fully autonomous robotics is imminent and could potentially have a major impact on the world?
AGI is a hypothetical form of AI that has the ability to understand, learn, and apply knowledge across a wide range of tasks, which is simmilar to a human being. I do belive that AGI and fully autonomous robots have a potential to create a major impact in the world, which can shift all sorts of domains dramatically. However, I do not think that AGI and fully autonomous robots are imminent, because as of now, it is just a theory and a greater load of research needs to be done in order for that to happen.
