Randy Pausch
Who is Randy Pausch?
Randy Pausch was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and University of Virginia. In September 2006, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was only given 3-6 months left to live. He passed away on July 25 2008.
What was he known for?
He was the founder of Alice, which is a simple block-based programming tool, and the co-founder of Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center. He was also a virtual reality pioneer and performed corresponding research with Disney’s Imagineering department.
