Here you can find various group projects I've been involved in during my junior year; all are available to view through Adobe Reader.
Throughout the term, our class was assigned the task to advise and design a solution for
a motorcycle company as an information technology consulting group. We designed a general
solution for the company in terms of business processes and executive architecture, and then worked on
a sub-scenario in which we were to design a website more suitable to international consumers.

For this assignment I was tasked to solve an information problem using a database
hosted on a PHP server and using MySql. Using these tools I manipulated the data given
to create a solution for the client, a partner of the Affordable Homes Development Compound.
Throughout the term, our group worked on the process of setting up a fast food establishment
that would deliver fresh and healthy food to an initial target market of college students.
Part of the assignment was to create a professional request-for-proposal in which we lay out our
plans for the business, as well as the start-up finances we would need to succeed. The audience
was an fictional Venture Capitalist corporation called Capitalist Assets Kirkpatrick.
I designed the document, gave it the layout, designed the images
and compiled it before we handed it in.
I’m Denise Edwards, currently a Junior studying Information Systems and International Relations and Politics. I’m also a Japanese Language minor. I am an undergraduate student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
I have many interests which include reading, drawing, singing, dance, fashion and learning languages. I am currently trying to teach myself both French and Korean. Most recently I have gained an interest in design, partly in fault to the Communication Design class I took last semester. Communication Design has opened my eyes to the human side of information systems and human-technology interaction which I find interesting.
I hope that this website has proved insightful into learning about more about myself. Thanks for viewing!
