How Our Mechanism Works
Our
mechanism is comprised of three primary components: the base support, the
support arm, and the servo lifting device. The mechanism extends from the clamp
area and extends towards the weight by going through the smaller of two holes.
By going through the smaller hole, our mechanism takes a more direct route to
the weight. Attached to the end of the
support arm is the servo lifting device. This is comprised of the servo motor
and a lever arm with a counterweight attached. When the servo is in the down
position it does not contact the weight, but when the servo is switched on, the
lever arm comes into contact with the weight and lifts it.
