Abstract

Today, many places have bandwidth plicies to to limit people's use of bandwidth. Bandwidth is the rate at which data is transferred through a given system. Consequently, excess of use of bandwidth could slow down the rate of the system, and could cause problems to people who are using the system. For this reason, Carnegie Mellon University also has bandwidth policy to prevent the excess use of bandwidth. At CMU, wireless network allows maximum of 750 megabytes of bandwidht per day, and wired netwok allows maximum of 2gigabytes of bandwidth per day. If the user violates the policy, the user is notified through email. Therefore, many places use bandwidth plicies to provide efficient systme.
