It was a 3 hour ferry ride from the mainland to Phi Phi
islands. I took pictures of Phi Phi Don as we rode on the
ferry. The first three are the southern edge, and the
last is Long Beach, just east of Tonsai Bay. |

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Laem Tong beach.

Our second day there, we went on a longtail boat tour of the
Phi Phi Lae, the smaller of the two islands. It has quite
an impressive cliff. |

Pi Leh Bay is a small, beautiful bay with a narrow inlet,
supposedly good for snorkeling and swimming. The water
was very clear and beautiful. |

Ma Ya Bay was used for the movie "The Beach" and charges
a small visiting fee for tourists. |
|
The Holiday Inn is on the east shore, but they have a
short, steep path to the top of a cliff that overlooks the
Andaman Sea, towards the mainland. |

Back in Phuket, we stayed at a hotel overlooking Patong
Beach. |

We visited the Phuket Zoo, where they let visitors pose
for a photograph with tigers. The little guys are very
friendly and cuddly. |

The sun was just setting over Japan as my plane flew back
over the Pacific Ocean. |
