Hair Party

Playing with hair

A hair party, which I'd toyed around with for a while, is a get together where the prime objective is to play with hair. A variety of people came to this one. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I was the one of the only ones to do much with hair. I also attempted to teach Richard how to braid better.

Braids

Put me in a room with long hair, and braids will come out. Allen got roped into a Legolas braid, which is a basic herringbone with a couple lace braids on the sides. Boudicca and Leah got crown braids, one dutch and the other french. Sarah got a lace "headband" braid.

Finally, Johanna provided the biggest challenge for me: how to put 4 feet of hair into the letter "J" on top of her head. The first attempt was awful, but this one wasn't nearly as bad. From the front, it looked like she had a braid bow on the side of her head. Johanna gives the camera her little goth girl grin.

Kids

There were actually about 9 kids present at the party, but they spent most of their time upstairs running around. A few of them made it downstairs to play around and get braided.

Other entertainment

Other entertainment to be had throughout the evening included Ben's xmas present: a physical incarnation of the famous "Helpful" hat, which I hear has already gotten a good deal of use, by people who like to be "helpful."

Dave et al, as usual, did a lot of camera geeking. Eric found entertainment with the flywheel of a kids auto toy that had been left downstairs.

Hanging out

And of course, there were copious amounts of the ever-present "hanging around."
