A brief summary of Randy Pausch's time management lecture:
Randy Pausch was computer science professor at carnegie mellon who gave motivational speeches about time management. He sadly died of cancer a few months after his time management lecture, but I was inspired by the way he was confident and relaxed on stage even though he was so pressed on time. Randy Pausch was known for co-founding carnegie mellon's entertainment and technology center. He also created the alice animation software and he researched about human-computer interaction.
Here are some nice points I took away from his lecture:
1)When you are interrupted by small things you could be wasting precious time so focus on how to minimize the interruptions when they happen and to get back to focusing on your work as fast as possible.
2)Time can't be brought back, but things like money can be brought back, so time is more valuable than money.
3)Changing the way I think about and use my time will make me successful in managing my time effectively and making sure I get the most out of it.
4)Ask about everything you do, whether it is fun or not, and why are you doing it? This way I can make sure that I want to do everything that I am doing.
5)Do not rationalize procrastination, rather focus on why you are procrastinating and try to solve that problem whichever way you see fit.
