About Me

Having  completed my Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from SSN College of Engineering, I worked in Tata Consultancy Services Limited as  Assistant systems Engineer for a period of One year and six months (April 2005-September 2006). I also worked as a Project Associate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT M), Madras Under Dr.V.Kamakoti and Dr.B.Ravindran.

Currently I am pursuing my Masters program in Embedded Systems Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, USA.

Offline signature verification using projection moments and envelope characteristics.
[Signature verification is the process of verifying whether a given signature is genuine or forged. Since the signature is the most popular source of authorization in world today, signature verification finds a great deal of application in every sphere of life. In this paper the problem of offline signature verification is addressed. For this purpose first a database of signatures is constructed. Four different types of global features have been used for the classification of signatures. The features used for classification are horizontal projection and vertical projection moments, upper and lower envelopes and the area of black pixels. An algorithm for both signature recognition and signature verification is proposed. The algorithm uses the projections of the signature images as feature vectors. The proposed algorithm has been tested on the prepared databases and the results were satisfactory.]

Space time block codes for high data rate wireless communication.

[Fading due to multipath propagation is a limiting factor in wireless communication. Robustness against fading is achieved by introducing frequency, time or spatial diversity. Wideband CDMA realizes frequency diversity and with interleaving in GSM, a time diversity gain is achieved. With the space time code implemented in this project, spatial and time diversity is introduced. My report contains a theoretical background and a performance evaluation of the Alamouti space time code. A mathematical model of the system is discussed together with the implementation of the model. A simple two branch transmit diversity scheme is presented. Using two transmit antennas and one receive antenna the scheme provides the same diversity order as maximal ratio receiver combining (MRRC) with one transmit antenna and two receive antennas. It is also shown that the scheme may easily be generalized to provide a diversity order of 2M. The new scheme does not require any bandwidth expansion any feed back from the receiver to the transmitter and its computational complexity is similar to MRRC]
