Just a quick tour of Katara - Cultural Village in Qatar on a Friday morning during winter.
Katara is the name given to the cultural village in Qatar, it is located between Doha's West Bay and the pearl. It has been soft-opened in October 2010 During Doha Tribeca Film Festival the DTFF, and TEDxDoha. Many Qatari organisations have their offices in Katara. These include the Qatari Society for Engineers, Qatar Fine Arts Society, Visual Art Centre, Qatar Photographic Society, Childhood Cultural Centre, Theatre Society and Qatar Music Academy.

Katara is hosting a traditional fishing and pearl diving competition during four days from 17th until the 20th of April. Saturday the 20th April is the closing ceremony this day will include the arrival and the participation of approximately 30 traditional Dhows.
FANAR was chosen as our name because of our high-profile mission; to act as a guiding light to whole of mankind, and to help all non-Arabs to have a better understanding of Islam and culture of Qatar. FANAR is governmental organization that presents culture to all world through a varity of activites such as Exhibitions, tours of the centre, visits to the mosque and Arabic language Courses..

The Museum of Islamic Art is a museum located in the Qatari capital Doha and designed by architect I. M. Pei. The museum's interior gallery spaces were designed by a team lead by JM Wilmotte of Wilmotte Associes.
