ASSIGNMENT: THOUGHTFULLY PLACE A SURFACE SO THAT A DRAWING IS MADE FOR YOU

STUDENT OBJECTIVES: My goal here was to let writing be my drawing. Placing the paper as a writing surface would be how my drawing was proudced. This project began to speak to break down of the image, as my last two projects eventually dealt with.

SELF REVIEW // REACTIONS:Hmm. So this was way too big to execute in the alotted time. I wrote one night for an hour and a half, straight, unstopping, stream of conciousness. I then proceeded to do a negative space drawing of that writing on a 9 foot by 38 inch canvas. Ambitious, indeed. I still want to finish this. I think it will be stunning when it's complete but for now, it sits rolled up on my floor. By the way, I learned a lesson during this project... Sharpie markers can make you pass out.
