Dear Class of 2021+

In the next few months, you will be embarking on one of the greatest adventures of your life: becoming a member of the Carnegie Mellon community. Whether you’re coming to campus from across the street or from halfway around the world, being a part of a university community is a journey. We, the 2017 Orientation staff, are here to help you begin this incredible voyage and to become adjusted to what we hope will become your home. The Orientation Counselors (OCs), Orientation Leaders (OLs) and Head Orientation Counselors (HOCs) are thrilled to welcome you.

Your first year at Carnegie Mellon will be filled with endless possibilities, considering the many clubs, events and programs that CMU has to offer. In addition, Pittsburgh has so many unique experiences to offer, whether it be sailing on the river or visiting our city’s many museums. There is so much to explore and do; this is truly a place where you can be yourself and investigate all of your interests. You will be surrounded by support and resources from faculty, staff, current students and new friends within both your residential and college communities. These connections will help you connect the dots between what excites you and achieving success at Carnegie Mellon.
We could not be more thrilled to have you join the Carnegie Mellon community. We are excited to see what you, the class of 2021+, will do to make your mark. We hope that as you begin this new chapter of your life, you will embark on new paths and explore new possibilities. Your journey starts here, so be ready to laugh, explore, work and join the Carnegie Mellon community!

We can’t wait to meet you in August!

With all our Tartan love,
Apeksha, Emily, Jeff, Katelyn, Mikaela, Nate and Ricardo (HOCS)
