What is FRUA?
FRUA stands for Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures, though the game
itself is often called UA. FRUA seems easier to pronounce, though...
FRUA is a DOS & Mac based game that allows people to build, share, and
play Forgotten Realm (AD&D) modules with other owners of the game.
Game modelues are played like stand-alone adventure games, in the style
of the SSI D&D Gold Box adventure games. You must have a copy of
FRUA to play the modules.
FRUA was created and sold by SSI (Strategic Simulations Inc), and while
it is no longer being worked on by that company, it is still
available: seperately, and as part of a 5 game CD set. It is
available for both the Mac and the PC.
Note: It appears that the Mac version of FRUA is no longer available.
It also appears that the only version that is widely available is part
of the 5 CD boxed set, but it's priced very attractively.
What's NEW!
April 1996
The web page maintainer finally get's off his butt and makes the long
needed changes to the web pages ... ;^)
Seriously, it's under construction again. Comments, suggestions,
criticisms, etc, all welcome. Follow the email link at the end of this
page to drop me a line.

An experimental art index is currently under construction. Feel free
to browse, but as it's in flux, links may be broken from time to time.
FRUA General Information:
The following links lead to general information about the FRUA system.
It is subject to change, and is far from the last word on the subject.
This is the (woefully out of date) FAQ for FRUA. It's on the list
of things that will be updated. It's still a useful resource, though
should be suplemented by the News letters (below).
The mailing list is the internet resource for getting in touch with
out FRAu users who are on the internet. Mail can range from questions
like "how do I do xyz..." to module reviews & announcements of new modules,
art, and game "hacks" (hacks are modifications to the game engine itself,
not released from SSI.)
It's back! Thanks to John Viveiros (VTTW74C@prodigy.com), the module
list is once again being supported. Forward all comments and compliments
to him.
Other FRUA related Web links:
Other very useful resources for FRUA & related activities. Order is
alphabetical, and should not imply that one is better than any other.
(They're all very good, very useful, and very often more up-to-date than
mine ;^)
