The History and Philosophy of Science Department at the University of Pittsburgh and the Philosophy Department at Carnegie Mellon University are working together to contribute to the fields of Philosophy and Methodology of Science. For many years now graduate students in each of these departments have been involved in research on the foundations of the various sciences. This work has led to important results, and has been useful in pointing out directions for future research. Often, however, this graduate student research does not receive the attention it deserves due to the absence of a nationally accessible medium. The Pittsburgh Journal hopes to make available and archive these results. Furthermore, its utility will be increased by inviting graduate students nationally to participate. Updates at this site will include conference dates and the keynote speaker. |
