Counterpoint was founded in 2000 by Carolyn Weger as Carnegie Mellon's only all-female a cappella group.
Each year, we perform at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), The A CaPittsburgh Project benefit concert founded by Counterpoint in 2008, No Instruments Aloud, Carnival, Almost Midnight A Cappella, and countless other events.
In addition to concerts, we are also available for Singing Valentines every February. We will serenade or perform a singing phone call for a person of your choice. This is a Counterpoint tradition perfect for surprising a special someone or embarrassing a friend!
We take pride in our unique song selections, ranging in genre from barbershop to pop - and we even do some rap! Overall, we are a diverse group of girls with different personalities, interests, and goals brought together by one common thread: the love of music!
