Overview

Founded in 1985, the Department of Philosophy at Carnegie Mellon stands among the best in the world in the following areas:

  • Logic and Philosophy of Mathematics
  • Philosophy of Science and Methodology
  • Rational Choice and Decision Theory
  • Formal Epistemology
  • Philosophy of the Social Sciences
  • Foundations of Cognitive Psychology
