Pinzhi "Steven" Chen, Ph.D. Student

is primarily interested in applying artificial intelligence and machine learning methods in design study. Recent work focuses on applying fMRI (functional magnetic resonance image) within a study of customer product preference choice and designers' design decision making process.

Steven is primarily advised by Dr. Jonathan Cagan in a collaborative project with Jarrod Moss from Mississippi State University. Pinzhi graduated from Beijing Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and began work at CMU in Fall 2011.
