Welcome Back BGSO!!! I hope that everyone had an enjoyable summer and is prepared to get back into the swing of things. On behalf of the executive board, I would like to welcome each and every one of you to the 2007-2008 academic year.
Welcome Back BGSO!!! I hope that everyone had an enjoyable summer and is prepared to get back into the swing of things. On behalf of the executive board, I would like to welcome each and every one of you to the 2007-2008 academic year. Many members of the Black Graduate Student Organization put forth a lot of effort over the summer in order to ensure that our members are offered an event filled year and given the opportunity to leave their mark on Carnegie Mellon’s campus.
One of my primary goals this year as the President, is to increase active membership in the organization. From this increase in active members, I hope to foster a spirit of camaraderie in our members that will not only spread throughout the BGSO, but also to other minority organizations within the CMU and Pittsburgh communities-thus allowing us to coordinate more events with other organizations and have a greater overall impact.
As we enter into a new academic year, I would like to invite students, both new and old to attend our events throughout the course of the year. On the same token, I would like to challenge current members of the BGSO to increase their activity within the organization and ensure that the prospective members feel a sense of belonging. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestion that you may have for the BGSO throughout the year. I wish you all the best and I look forward to seeing you at all of the BGSO events this year.
Brandon J. Carson
2007-2008 BGSO President
