The Black Graduate Student Organization (BGSO) is a support group for graduate students of color as they pursue academic excellence on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. Throughout the academic year, BGSO provides graduate students with cultural, academic, and professional support.
BGSO inspires its members to be active leaders in both the CMU and Pittsburgh communities. BGSO members represent various ethnic backgrounds and academic disciplines across the CMU campus.
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable summer and is prepared to get back into the swing of things. On behalf of the executive board, I would like to welcome each and every one of you to the 2007-2008 academic year. Many members of the Black Graduate Student Organization put forth a lot of effort over the summer in order to ensure that our members are offered an event filled year and given the opportunity to leave their mark on Carnegie Mellon’s campus.
One of my primary goals this year as the President, is to increase active membership in the organization.
